"Washington Corps Set For 1st Season
Washington,D.C., - The Royal Sabres of Washington are looking forward to their first full season as an M & M corps with a complement of 27 horns, 9 drums, and an 18-girl color guard.
The corps, organized a little over a year ago, is sponsored by American Legion Post NO. 5. Their first competition was last Sept. 30 in Baltimore, MD., where they placed fourth with a score of 70.67 after only six days of learning a drill.
Instructors are Bill Semianicek and Jake Samarie of the Air Force Drum Corps, former members of Blessed Sacrament and the Reilly Raiders."
