"THE "PIRATES" were organized in 1959 and became a Competitive Corps in 1960. The corps is a member of the mid-west Jr. drum and bugle corps Circuit. The Pirates attended the American Legion National Convention of 1963 in Miami, Fla. They are the 1964 Indiana American Legion Champs. The Color Guard is also active in contest and may do well this year. The Pirates have 47 members, 24 bugles and 9 drums. This year the corps will have new uniforms and plans to enlarge in the fall.
