Frontier drum and bugle core was formed in the fall of 2004 when founder Chris Green and a group of enthusiastic and like-minded individuals met to discuss the possibility of creating an “All-Age” unit in the Dallas & Fort Worth area.

The unit operated under the umbrella of the Frontier Performing Arts Association (FPAA) that included the drum corps, a winter guard & brass ensemble. In the arts world, Frontier had enjoyed a close relationship with the world famous Turtle Creek Chorale men’s chorus, performing in several concerts and television broadcasts. With the chorale, corps members participated in recording sessions for the nationally-distributed compact disk "Songs of Our Nation," an award-winning documentary entitled "Power of Harmony" as well as the 2006 Christmas concert.

The corps drew on a large population of displaced drum corps veterans and many adults that were unable to march junior corps. The members came from the Dallas metro area and across Texas. The first several years saw the corps develop relationships with Roller Derby and Women’s professional football franchises. Each year since 2005, Frontier competed in the DCA championships.

Beginning in 2007, Frontier also competed at local DCI contests and was a charter member of the DCA Central circuit.

Seasons and Shows:

2005

In its inaugural season, the corps finished 16th in the DCA “Open Class” preliminary round, performing its debut show “Lasso the Sun”. The corps sported khaki pants and tops with a black belt and cross-belt. The look was reminiscent of the 27th Lancers and performed with G bugles.

2006

With their show entitled Fire, Frontier improved nearly 10 points from its inaugural season, finishing 14th in the DCA “Open Class” contest while performing in less-than-ideal conditions in the rains of Hurricane Ernesto.

2007

Frontier took a step forward with the introduction of its new uniform. The corps make its DCI debut at the Lake Highlands “Festival of Drums & Bugles” on July 19th. The 2007 production titled “1968” comprised of music released in that year, placing 13th, their highest ranking in DCA “Open Class” competition.

2008

The 2008,production, entitled “There And Back Again”, took viewers on a musical journey, modern classical, jazz & pop, on their way to an 11th place finish in the DCI “Class A” preliminaries.

2009

The corps disbanded.
