The ‘76ers drum and bugle corps was originally formed in the fall of 1970 as the Marauder 76ers. They were a feeder unit for the Marauders under the direction of Arlene Henson.

The corps entered field competition in their inaugural year as champions of the “Feeder” division of the Penn York circuit, finishing in 2nd position the following year. In 1973, the feeder corps split from the Marauders organization and went on to finish in 2nd position in the “Class C” division.

The 76ers competed in a regional championship for the first time in 1974 with an appearance in the World Open “Class B” division and a 27th place finish. They began touring in 1975, with appearances at the American International Open and Key to Sea Open, finishing in 16th place at both championships. The corps participated in DCI “Class A” competition in 1976, tying for 13th and 1977, with a 10th place finish.

The 1978 season saw the corps compete in “Class A” at the American International Open, finishing in 20th position and the US Open, just missing out of a finalist spot in 13th.

They disbanded in 1979.
