This corps before WWII represented a Boy Scout Troup but later became the American Legion Drum Corps of Palmyra not to be confused with the later C.A. Palmer Fife & Drum Corps of 1961.  Palmyra is a town in Wayne County, with a population of 7,975, located 20 miles South East of Rochester, NY.  The town also contains a village named Palmyra named after the ancient city of Palmyra.
