The Ambassadeurs drum & bugle corps was formed in the fall of 1970 through a merger between the Cadets Champlain of Gatineau and the Dynamiques of Buckingham.

Pierre Campagna served as the president with Michel Bergeron and Gilles Villeneuve as the corps directors; Gaetan Biard was business manager. Their instructional staff included Jean Leblanc on brass, Michel Monette on percussion and Bob Myre and André Bergeron on marching. Pierre Latour and Gilles Villeneuve were drum majors.

Not yet on the field of competition, the corps had already created a “buzz” around the Canadian drum corps circles as they participated at both the Québec provincial and Canadian National individual championships, winning 8 first place awards. In their inaugural season, the corps met with great success by being crowned “Class B” champions at the 1971 Canadian Open and ADCQ Québec provincial championships as well as the Canada Central Circuit champions. They also finished in 2nd place in the “Class B” division at the Canadian Nationals.

In 1972, the corps competed regionally ending the year with a 3rd place finish at the Canada Central Circuit championships.

They disbanded in 1973 and several members joined the Cadets La Salle.
