The Ambassadrices drum and bugle corps was formed in 1960 by Rosaire Chamberland and was sponsored by the Club Optimiste of Shawinigan. They were one of two “All Girl” corps in the city.

The unit was active in 1961 as a parade and exhibition group, entering the field of competition in 1962. They competed at the Québec “All Girls” provincial championships with finishes of 2^nd place in 1963 and 5^thplace in 1964.

The corps disbanded in 1965.
