The Grenadiers drum and bugle corps was formed in September of 1959 under the leadership of Robert Janus.

The corps made its first appearance in the Memorial Day parade in Albion and followed up the next year by winning the 1961 New York (NY) VFW state parade title. The corps entered the field of competition in 1962, placing 3rd in the NY-Penn circuit and became members of the NY-Canadian circuit in 1963, where they placed in 9th position.

In 1964, the Albion unit placed 6th in the NY-Canadian championships and performed in the World's Fair parade in New York City. From 1965 to 1967, the corps participated in the NY-Canadian circuit championships, finishing in 3rd,4th & 5th respectively. In 1968, the Grenadiers competed in their one and only DCA championships, placing 13th in the preliminary round and in 1969, placed 4th in the NY State Legion contest.

They disbanded in 1970.
