The Granite State Garrison drum and bugle corps was founded in 1983 as a parade unit in Keene with equipment and uniforms purchased from the disbanded Simplex Minutemen of Gardner.

They entered the field of competition as members of the Eastern Massachusetts (E-Mass) circuit and placed 3r in the “Class B” division in 1984. They were perennial members of the E-Mass circuit winning the 1985 “Class B” title and would move up the following season to the “Class A” division, placing 2nd in 1986 along with 4th in 1987, 2nd in 1988 & 3rd in 1989.

The corps also competed in the DCI championships on 2 occasions, finishing 10th in both the 1987 & 1988 “Class A-60” preliminaries. Other highlights over the years included participation in the Drum Corps East contest, placing 8th in the “Class A-60” division, an appearance in the 1988 US Open placing 5th in the Class A prelims as well as participating in the DCI east regionals Class A 60, 6th 1985, 5th 1986, 4th 1987, crowned the 1988 class A60 champions & and 2nd in 1989.

They disbanded in 1990.
