In the wake of the 2020 Drum Corps International tour being cancelled for the safety and well-being of its fans, members, and staff, Virtual Drum & Bugle Corps brought thousands of talented musicians and visual performers together in a virtual project of massive scale. They designed and produced a drum corps show as a way to uplift and bring passion to the drum corps community. Virtual produced this fully virtual drum corps show by calling on DCI performers/fans all over the world of all ages/skill ranges to submit videos of themselves performing custom drum corps show music and choreography designed by actual DCI show designers. Virtual's professional A/V engineers then created a virtual drum corps performance video that was released on what would have been finals night for DCI 2020. The organization quickly grew to a size that was incorporated into a nonprofit organization (Virtual Arts, Inc.), and now continually provides year round performance opportunities in the pageantry arts.
