The Big Sky Reveliers drum and bugle corps was formed in the fall of 1969 by Len Droste, who was a former member of the Billings junior drum corps and member of the National Association of Rudimental Drummers and Jim Anderson, also a former member of the junior corps. The corps director was Lynn Droste.

The corps started out with strong community support when the Billings American Legion (AL) provided the uniforms and the VFW Post 1634 supplied the bugles. They also received support from the Riverside Optimist Club and the Musicians Union. In November, the Reveliers numbered  40 members in the “A” corps and 30 members in the “B” feeder corps. The original instructional staff was composed of Ken McGiboney on brass and Len Droste on percussion while Frank Leenknecht headed the parents’ group. They entered the field of competition at the 1970 MT AL championships, placing 2nd and repeated with a 2nd place performance the following year. The Reveliers also competed regionally for the first time in 1971.

In 1972, the corps became members of the Northwest drum corps association (NWDCA) and sponsored a show, Pageant of Percussion, on their way to a 2nd place finish once again at the MT AL contest and a 5th place finish at the NWDCA “Class B” championships.

Due to a lack of interest, the corps disbanded in 1973.
