The Illusion drum & bugle corps was founded in October of 1992 after the Musketeers junior corps left the Archer Epler organization.

In 1993, under the direction of Lou Mauro, the corps competed in the DCI East “Division III” championships, placing 9th and the 1994 DCI “Division III” preliminaries, finishing 33rd and won the Garden State Circuit (GSC) “Division III” title. In 1995, the corps merged for one season with the Southern Knights to form the Southern Illusion. Illusion reorganized in the fall of 1995 and went on to compete in the DCI “Division III” championship prelims from 1996 to 1999, where they ranked 25th (1996), 28th (1997), 21st (1998) & 26th (1999). As members of the GSC, the corps won their 2nd “Division III” title in 1996, placing 3rd in 1997 & 1998. The Illusion also participated in several “Division III” preliminary regional contests, including the North American Open (24th - 1997 & 1999) & 22nd in 1998; the Garden State Open (13th - 1998 & 16th 1999) and the Canadian Open (18th – 1999)

They disbanded in 2000.
