The history of the Vaqueros goes back to 1936 when it was a neighborhood project for the youngsters. "The Minute Men" was their name at that time. In 1953 they were associated as "The Modernaires" and in 1954, in addition to changing their name to "The Vaqueros", also changed from the traditional military uniform to a South American caballero type and arranged their style of music to follow that pattern.

The interest Aurora showed for this teenage group was a big asset for these boys and girls. It was a spart that released a higher spirit of determination.
