The Idéalistes “All-Girls” drum and bugle corps was originally formed as the Pamelas Majorettes Corps of Jacques Cartier in the fall of 1961, under the direction of Raymonde Chevigny & Luc Charbonneau.

The corps’ original name was in memory of a young American girl whom Raymonde met during a majorette training camp in the United States. Over the next few years, bugles were integrated into the program and in 1966, the drum & bugle corps Pamelas Idéalistes was formed, performing in several parades and exhibitions.

The corps was renowned for participating in unique events such as television shows, National galas and appeared in the “Musicorama” tour sponsored by the CJMS radio station, where they performed in 31 cities in 31 days. In 1968, now known as the Idéalistes competed at the Provincial championships in the “All-Girls” preliminary division. Another tradition was the annual ball, where members were donned in beautiful long white dresses.

They disbanded in 1973.
