The Debonnettes “All-Girls” drum and bugle corps was originally organized in the fall of 1963 as the Princesses, a feeder corps to the Debonnaires.
Out of the gate, the corps entered the field of competition as members of the Eastern Massachusetts (E-Mass) circuit in 1964, participating in the “Class C” division and earning a finalist spot in 1967, placing 4th, repeating the same feat in 1969. The corps became the Debonnettes in 1966 and was accepted as members of the Mayflower circuit in 1967. They ranked as a “Class C” finalist in 1970, improving to a 3rd place finish the following season before going inactive for one season in 1972.
Over the next two years, the corps competed in the 1973 and 1974 Catholic Youth Organization, CYO circuit, where they finished in 3rd and 4th respectively in the “Junior Division”, returning to the Mayflower for the 1975 competitive season. Over the next two years, the Debonnettes were placed on the inactive list as the Debonnaires rebuilt their program. They were reactivated in 1978 as a parade corps and competed one last year in the 1979 CYO “Junior Class”, placing in 11th position.
They disbanded in 1980.
