Charisma

The Charisma “All-Girls” drum & bugle corps was formed in January 1979 through a merger between the Jeanettes of Lynn and the Socialites of Saugus, under the co-direction of Diane Roughan and Paul Bertrand.

Both organizations’ membership had declined, mainly due to the members’ interest in sporting events, initiating the idea of amalgamation. Their first public appearance was at the Memorial Day parades. The corps competed for a single season, participating in the prelims at the 1979 DCI East, placing 26th, the Drum Corps East circuit championships, finishing 18^th and the World Open “All-Girls” class, where they placed 4^th.

They disbanded in 1980.
