The Hot Shots drum and bugle corps was formed in early 1962 and sponsored by the Fire Police Departments of Norwalk, under the long standing leadership of William “Bill” Anderson.

The corps started out as a parade fife & drum corps, placing 4th in the 1962 Connecticut American Legion (AL) State parade division and converted to a drum and bugle corps the following season, competing as members of the Greater New York (GNY) circuit and participated in their first major contest, finishing 30th in the 1964 World Open preliminary round. After placing 8th in the 1965 GNY contest & 4th in the CT AL State convention, they pursued competition in the GNY championships from 1966 to 1970. The Hot Shots also made a 2nd appearance in the 1968 World Open regional, finishing 37th in the “Class A” prelims.

In 1970, the Noroton Heights parade corps of Darien fused into the corps to form the “New” Hot Shots as they went on to perform intermittently in parades and exhibitions over the next 4 years. In 1975, the corps returned to the field of competition as members of the Northeast circuit, placing 17th that season, 9th in 1976 & 3rd in the 1977 “Class B” division.

They disbanded in 1978.
