In 1983, the Chatelaines “All-Girls” corps merged with the Baladins of Laval and reorganized as the Chatelains-Chatelaines, a coed version of the previous Chatelaines.
They competed with the same uniform as the 1982 girls corps and were often announced as the Chatelaines. The corps competed with male members, although still a majority of females and was crowned the 1983 DCI “Class A” champions, placing 17th in the “Open Class” prelims.
The following year, they were renamed “Connexion Québec” and with new uniforms, they improved to a 19th place finish in the 1984 DCI quarterfinals and went on to rank among the elite “Top 25” drum corps in the DCI “Open Class” championships, where they placed 25th in both the 1985 and 1986 semifinals and concluded their final season of competition in the 1987 DCI “Open Class” semis, placing 21st.
Connexion was also a member of the FAMQ circuit, where they finished as bridesmaid for 3 consecutive years, from 1984 to 1986 in “Open Class” competition. During this time, they participated in DCI Canada (9th - 1985 Finals) and (16th - 1986 Prelims) as well as the DCI East preliminaries, where the corps placed 12th in 1986 and 11th in 1987, with an appearance at the 1986 US Open, placing 9th in the “Open Class” finals.
They disbanded in 1988.
